Name Change[edit]

I propose (and previously did) to change the title of this article to include what country (USA) and what branch of said countries military it is apart of. Technically this is the "United States Air Force Combat Command". Aaron mcd (talk) 08:29, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No it's not. Its formal name is 'Air Combat Command.' I've never seen it called anything else in any publication. If you have a source that says otherwise please share. The nation and branch are clearly listed in the miltary info box in the upper right hand corner. If another nation has an organization called Air Combat Command then I could see putting a disambig tag on it, but to my knowledge no other nation has a like named organization.--Ndunruh (talk) 14:47, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No name change was "proposed" - the article was moved without discussion or concensus. As Ndunruh said, "Air Combat Command" is its official name. No Disambiguating is needed to identify the nation and service in cases where there is no other organization with that name, and even if there were, this one might be the "primary topic" anyway, and need no DABbing. I have seen "Air Force Air Combat Command" used, but to my knowledge it's not the official title. - BillCJ (talk) 17:42, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You make good points, and to BillCJ I meant I conducted a move, not that I previously proposed a move :) Aaron mcd (talk) 22:01, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Requested edits to Air Combat Command Wikipedia page[edit]

Good afternoon!

I would respectfully like to request two edits be made to the Air Combat Command Wikipedia page.

If possible, I can make the changes, but since I work for Air Combat Command Public Affairs, I'm not sure if that would be a conflict of interest.

Here is the information:

The current ACC vice commander is Maj. Gen. Jerry D. Harris Jr., and his official biography can be found here: http://www.af.mil/AboutUs/Biographies/Display/tabid/225/Article/108613/major-general-jerry-d-harris-jr.aspx

The current ACC command chief is Chief Master Sgt. Steve K. McDonald, and his official biography can be found here:

http://www.acc.af.mil/library/biographies/bio.asp?id=18013

I appreciate any help you can provide in advising how to proceed or correcting this information.

Thank you!

Respectfully, 132.3.29.79 (talk) 20:42, 15 September 2015 (UTC)Amy Haviland, MSgt, USAFR[reply]

My feeling is that the information you are talking about (positions) on the InfoBox change quite regularly at Command levels. As long as you properly place citation information when making changes here, MSgt Haviland, you are probably in the best position to make those updates. Alternatively, if you still feel uncomfortable and can provide me with reliably citeable sources, I can keep it updated for you. TadgStirkland401 (talk) 03:16, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

List of Previous Commanders[edit]

I do not see a link or infobox that lists previous commanders of ACC and/or TAC. The list is probably long enough in reality to deserve its own page with a link on this page in a See Also section. Alternatively, a compressed table list at the bottom of the article would work. If someone will provide a source to this information, I’m willing to make the edits.
