Air Traffic Management (ATM) is a term used to regroup all of the activities relating to the navigation services provided to aircraft from the gate of departure to the gate of arrival.

These include: airspace-network design; flow management; tower control; regional Air Traffic Control services; route charging in some areas and certain regulatory activities.

The general goals of air traffic management are: heightened air traffic safety; increased airspace capacity; reduced air traffic delays; enhanced eficiency of the system and minimised environmental impact from air transport.

In Europe, ATM is the responsibility of member state civil aviation authorities, Air Navigation Service Providers, EUROCONTROL and the European Commission. --147.196.254.254 (talk) (contribs)13:46 (UTC), 22 March 2006‎
