Listing of notable aircraft type clubs[edit]

This list is very short (only two) and the second one ("Tiger Club") is a Redlink, so its removal is threatened. (An editor has put: "Please do not add type clubs here unless they already have a Wikipedia article. Redlinks will be removed.") While we should comply with WP:TYPECLUB , it would seem sensible, given that there a 'list', to have more than one one it. I propose to add the ARV Super2 owners club : http://sites.google.com/site/flyarv/Home . Whereas the list Cirrus Club has 2800 members, the ARV Super2 Club has fewer than 30; but almost all ARV owners are registered to it. So, is it notable enough? And would it not be useful to have a list of other clubs? Arrivisto (talk) 17:00, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Notable" means that it has an article about the club on Wikipedia. Having an article means that there are independent third party refs that establish that the organization is notable as per WP:ORG. All of this is to prevent spamming by type club fans who want to use Wikipedia to promote their organization. - Ahunt (talk) 23:21, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It can be noted that the last remaining aircraft type club article has been deleted as non-notable, following the AfD Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cirrus Owners and Pilots Association. As a result I have removed the section, but left the hidden note there for future editors. - Ahunt (talk) 12:49, 19 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
