Updating the contents of the article[edit]

Hi, I am an official representative of Akelius Residential Property AB and we would like to update the entry and enrich it with valuable information. We respect the rules of the Wikipedia community and have signed the official agency/Wikipedia agreement https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Statement_on_Wikipedia_from_participating_communications_firms. We adhere strictly to the guidelines and therefore leave it up to the members of the Wikipedia community to make or reject changes for us. Could someone for whom there is no conflict of interest please review the following content we have proposed? See the proposed changes below in the text.


Preamble: Moving down information on the Akelius Foundation to its own section, updated facts in a few areas (such as where they are operating), added Akelius' CEO's official rebuttal to the claims against them by the United Nations Human Rights Council, and removed the sentence on revenues from 2018 due to obsolescence.

Akelius Residential Property AB, founded in 1994 and until spring 2014 known as Akelius Fastigheter, is an international residential real estate company registered in Sweden. Akelius Residential Property owns nineteen thousand rental apartments in New York, Boston, Washington D.C., Austin, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City, Paris, and London Cite error: A <ref> tag is missing the closing </ref> (see the help page).. The rent cap was ruled unconstitutional in 2021; Akelius Residential Property stated that they sought to reclaim the excess money from tenants [1]. In response, the Berlin government provided a €10 million fund of interest-free loans to tenants struggling to make repayments [2].

In April 2020, the United Nations Human Rights Council accused Akelius Residential Property of human rights abuses [3] [4]. The UN Special Rapporteur on the right to adequate housing claimed that the company practiced unsafe renovictions to circumvent rent-control regulation and left residents living in unsafe construction sites for months, sometimes without access to running water or central heating [5] [6]. Akelius Residential Property rejects all the report’s accusations, with CEO Ralf Spann stating that they are based on hearsay and not facts [7].


New section "Akelius Foundation"

The main shareholder of Akelius Residential Property AB is the Akelius Foundation with 85 percent Cite error: A <ref> tag is missing the closing </ref> (see the help page).. Akelius Foundation is a large donor to UNICEF, SOS Children’s Villages, and other charities [8] [9]. The language and mathematics courses are part of the foundation’s cooperation with UNICEF. The courses are used in refugee camps around the world. 3,200 teachers use Akelius Foundation’s courses through UNICEF and UNHCR [10].

The Akelius Foundation has donated EUR125 million to UNICEF, SOS Children’s Villages, Doctors without Borders, and UNHCR from 2017 to 2022. The organisation has long-term commitments to four projects with SOS Children’s Villages. Each project runs for 25 years and has received SEK 100 million.

Following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, in March 2022, the foundation launched a campaign to match all Swedish donations to UNICEF and UNHCR, raising SEK 1.7 billion, of which the foundation donated SEK 700 million [11].

Since we have not received any replies here nor from directly reaching out to editors associated with the page, we are invoking the "ignore all rules"-rule and have implemented our proposed changes. Request to remove/add date to table of Akelius' properties and add History section[edit]

Table: Could we please either remove the table showing Akelius' properties or add a sentence stating that the figures were accurate as of February 2022? The figures are no longer accurate.
