1922 census[edit]

@Huldra: Like nearby Hunin, al-Khalisa was still under French control at the time of the 1922 census, which is why it doesn't appear. It would be nice to have a list of such villages (and a map) but it is not simple to do that without jumping into OR. Zero^talk 23:41, 2 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Zero0000: Ah, right. Could we have something like for Al-Khisas? (Though I suspect that some of the 1917-1922-stuff there is borderline OR?) At the moment the population of Al-Khalisa just "jumps" from 50 in 1881, to 1,369 in 1931..... which is not very satisfactory. Huldra (talk) 23:50, 2 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Photo of police station[edit]

The caption of the photo refers to "Halsa" police station and to a raid on 13/04/1948. Given the other photos in this album - e.g. Nabi Yusha - "Halsa" must have been in the Safed area. The geography looks right - high ground to the Lebanon border. It is clearly not the village but could there have been a police station associated with it? Are there any other suggestions?

The date and the fact it is from the Yiftach Brigade album suggests it must be Upper Galilee. Padres Hana (talk) 23:20, 2 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There was a large British police station about 0.6km NNW of Al Khalisa. The ground starts to rise rapidly to the west of the police station, more than 500m in less than 2km, so if the photo was taken from the east it could look like this. Zero^talk 23:45, 2 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
