Automatic Independent Surveillance - Privacy (AIS-P)[edit]

This material does not seem to belong in this article. The subject of this article is "Alarm Indication Signal", so it is inapproprite to add off-topic material in the body of the article. Since there appear to be two definitions for AIS-P, perhaps an article for "Automatic Independent Surveillance-Privacy" should be created, and a disambiguation page should be used to direct the reader to the appropriate article. Bad sentence[edit]

This sentence: "At the DS3 signal level, the intermediate element receiving an errored signal replaces the errored channel data with a signal consisting of valid DS-3 frame with the overhead bits (the M-subframe alignments bits, M-frame alignment bits, and P bits) [*] with the payload set to a 1010... sequence, the C bits all set to zero, and the X bits set to one." is incomplete. After the parenthetical explaining "overhead bits" there should be words saying what happens to these bits, but they are missing. I've marked this spot with [*] above. - Dougher (talk) 19:49, 21 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
