I have added an account of his part in this week's first Commons debate on the Trades Unions Bill, when he spoke in support and was later caught on camera apparently asleep when, it transpired Shelbrooke, who is partially deaf, was listening to a speaker device beside his seat on the Commons benches. I have sourced this from a web page from the Irish Independent but others are welcome to supersede this with a British news source whose detail corresponds. I originally heard of the tweet in a very brief report in the Daily Star.Cloptonson (talk) 21:12, 16 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I notice today reference to the incident, and the citation, has been deleted without explanation. The user may not have been aware that by doing so they have cast doubt on Shelbrooke's entitlement to be categorised as a Deaf Person (I was not the user who placed him in that category.)Cloptonson (talk) 05:54, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
