This article seems very scattered and strongly anti-Padilla. I'd like to see more plain-jane biographical data and some more pro-Padilla information. Also, so many inline links (not in citation form) are frowned upon. Thanks. jengod 20:37, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

1) listing the endorsements that Padilla didn't get?
2) using blogs as sources?

One of the cited sources is the LA Times, which doesn't seem to keep online backlogs. I have found other sources, but only through Google's cache. So, as of now, I'm not reverting back until I (or someone else) can find a proper cite. Landeyda 04:43, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

Why Are His Controversies, Votes & Positions Being Erased?

DiFi's article Is a perfect example of an elected official's page that shows all the sides of an elected official. Her page addresses some of conflictive votes she's taken and some favorable things she's done throughout her career. In addition, her page made news for that reason...several people within the Capitol didn't like it the information being posted, for obvious reasons. Censorship in an open source site because we dare to point out what the traditional news media won't, and obviously this elected official's City website? Point of information: Several of those IP's cleaning out the more critical things are from City of Los Angeles addresses.

Is Padilla's ethics track record not worthy of being noted in his political career? I beg to differ.

Thanks for discussing the matter. We should include all significant points of view about every subject of a Wikipedia article. However Feinstein has much more media coverage than Padilla, so they are not perfectly comparable. One of our core policies is Wikipedia:Verifiability. Its companion policy is Wikipedia:Reliable sources. These assertions about Padilla need to have reliable sources. Blogs do not count. LAT, Daily News, etc, are perfectly respectable sources which cover the city council. Please find sources of that type to substantiate the material you'd like to add. Awards and Recognition

Is it just me, or does the Awards section really matter? I mean, is it relevant that Alex won the "Mobile Home Manufactures Legislator of the Year" award? City Council Service

Is it just me, or does this section sound like it was lifted from a campaign mailer?

Anyone have any thoughts on if this is keeping with the neutral position that Wikipedia strives for?

With Leland Yee's arrest 3/26/2014, Mr. Padilla will likely be the California Secretary of State since there is no time for stronger candidates to join in. When Padilla will be sworn in

There seems to be an edit war going on, and revert after revert is probably the most ineffective way to solve a problem. The date is TO BE DETERMINED. [2] "it’s unclear when Padilla will take the oath of office this week, or whether it will be administered by Harris."; [3] "An aide close to Harris said that it is unlikely Padilla would be sworn in on Monday."; [4] "Newsom has already named Alex Padilla, California's secretary of state, to fill Harris' seat. In a press call, he told reporters he would likely be sworn in himself on Wednesday.". Please refrain from changing the date as we do not have a crystal ball. He is serving the remaining two years of Kamala Harris's term, so his term in the Senate will conclude in January 2023.[5] -- MelanieN (talk) 21:56, 2 February 2021 (UTC)

31st Secretary of State of California

Inaccurate statement?

"...is an American politician serving as the senior United States senator from California since 2021." He has only been the senior Senator since September 29, 2023. While this is stated later, the initial sentence seems inaccurate. Kk.urban (talk) 18:52, 30 September 2023 (UTC)
