Mentor[edit]

Alex George was my mentor at Stanford University, where he advised and encouraged me regarding my honors thesis on the process of negotiations. Anyone who had the privilege of meeting Alex was struck by his combination of brilliance and kindness. I remember thinking of him as the most generous, giving person one could think of when working with him. Alex's gentle encouragement and patience really enabled me to finish an enormous project the way that I wanted it to be. He was also willing to help without even being asked. I remember that he arranged for Seymour Martin Lipset to be the "second reader" for my honors thesis. Alexander George really adored his own family (just think of his many collaborative projects with his wife, Juliette!) and treated his students like family members. He made the university experience so very special to countless numbers of Stanford students and will live on in the memory of everyone he touched. - Davidcedor 26 June 2007, 20:09 (UTC)
