Various[edit]

Campoli didn't die in London, as the referenced NYT article might imply. He used to live in Thame, Oxfordshire, and died just before a bridge game down the road in Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire. I have boldly replaced the ref. to one from his biography (there also a snippet view on Google books). The NYT reference also wrongly states (not that it matters) that Buckinghamshire is northeast of London, whereas it is to the northwest.

Also, the Divine Art reference correctly gives the date of his moving to the UK as 1911, and I have corrected the date in the article; but also it claims (interestingly) that he died at home in Berkshire, where neither Princes Risborough nor Thame are to be found.

<Slightly off-topic> There is a story that he became known only by his surname when he became tired of radio announcers being heard to say - apparently - "I'm afraid old Campoli has just played the Elgar Violin Concerto". Just say it out loud... >MinorProphet (talk) 18:42, 18 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
