Expansion of the 'Genetics of Bioluminescence' Section[edit]

While the section discussing the genetics of bioluminescence provides an accurate outline of the enzymatic processes involved in bioluminescence, namely the Lux Operon, it does not explain in any level of depth the mechanics of that operon or it's significance in the study of bacterial Quorum Sensing. Given that the Lux Operon's notoriety is primarily associated with its occurence in Vibrio Fischeri, should its enzymatic mechanics be given a whole new article or simply added to the existing article on V. Fischeri? --J.michael7 (talk) 02:23, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • If the Lux Operon is unique to V. fischeri (and expected to remain so) it would make sense to expand here. My understanding is that is not the case, I think a whole new page dedicated to enzyme would make more sense.--ZayZayEM (talk) 13:38, 1 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reclassification[edit]

V. fischeri is now reclassified as Aliivibrio fischeri, see: http://ijs.sgmjournals.org/cgi/content/short/57/12/2823 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.215.113.158 (talk) 11:02, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
