Legend of All Stretton's name[edit]

I agree with the citation need placed against this stated legend that James I was the king who said of All Stretton and its neighbours (Church and Little) that they were 'all Strettons here'. Although I do not have the book to cite accurately, I do recall the legend being ascribed by Vincent Waite, in his book (1970s) Shropshire Hill Country, to the later James II. Waite commented the latter king was possibly not in good enough humour to say it as he had earlier in his progress had a humiliating experience being received by a drunken mayor in Gloucester!Cloptonson (talk) 18:13, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
