Bremen - High Druid of Shannara?[edit]

Bremen can't really be called a High Druid of Shannara, can he? He never took the office when the Warlock Lord killed the rest of the Druids, and after the War he was too busy training Allanon.

Yes, you have a point! Making the edit now. --Alex Nisnevich (talk) 03:22, 11 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Allanon making first appearance in this book?[edit]

Should it be noted that this book was writen well after the Sword, and that in real-time Allanon's first appearance was in the Sword? It just seems a little confusing. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 207.179.113.91 (talk) 03:10, 12 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

I agree wholeheartedly. I'll change it so that its makes the distinction.--Sovietjugernaut 11:23, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see any change on this. Parableman 23:18, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ref name[edit]

I'll help with the format. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast (talk) 19:14, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Expansion of The Sword of Shannara Section[edit]

Here's what I have so far. Tell me what you think, make any changes, add on to it, if you can, add refs and cites.

In The Sword of Shannara, the Four Lands come under threat once more, this time from a dark peril from the Skull Kingdom. Before the danger was apparent, a mysterious stranger appeared in the quiet land of Shady Vale. Flick Ohmsford, returning home after his weekly errands, was confronted in the woods by the huge commanding presence of this secretive stranger. The stranger "asks" to be led to an inn. After a brief struggle, Flick introduces himself to his new traveling campanion and leads him to the Ohmsford Family Inn. After a brief encounter with an unexplained shadow, they reach the inn. It is here, when Flick's brother Shea Ohmsford arrives, that the stranger finally introduces himself.

He is Allanon; the mysterious wanderer of the Four Lands, Historian of the Races, Philosopher and Teacher, and rumored practitioner of the mystic arts. He then makes a startling announcement to the Ohmsfords: "He's looking for Shea."Maybe use actual quote from the book here?

Warning the brothers that the evil Warlock Lord had returned to the Skull Kingdom and had sent his Skull Bearers out to pursue Shea, as he was the last descendant of the House of Jerle Shannara, and therefore the only one capable of using the Sword of Shannara against the Warlock Lord. Leaving Shea with three blue stones for protection and a note explaining that they were Elfstones, Allanon departed.

In Culhaven, Allanon called a council to discuss the Warlock Lord. They decided to send a small party to Paranor, the Sword of Shannara's final resting place, and acquire this all-powerful weapon so that it could be used against the Warlock Lord. This party consisted of Allanon, Shea, Flick, Menion Leah, Prince Balinor Buckhannah of Callahorn, the Dwarf Hendel, and the Elven brothers Dayel and Durin Elessedil.

Watch for WP:INUNIVERSE...and you don't have to cite anything in plot summaries per WP:PLOT unless it is quoted from the book or is not in the book directly. No, what I was looking for was a cite on what Allanon represents...a symbol? -talk- the_ed17 -contribs- 21:22, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Allanon represents the last of the Druids; the mysterious wanderer of the Four Lands, Historian of the Races, Philosopher and Teacher, and rumored practitioner of the mystic arts. This is all stated in the Sword of Shannara. Cdmajavatalk  00:46, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Me again. Allanon represents all remaining knwoledge in a living person from before the Great Wars, he also represents the Last of the Great Druids. The Druids were the Council of Advisors that "governed" the Lands before the Wars.
Is that something like you wanted?
First, it's not WP:PLOT, it's WP:WAF. Sorry. =) That looks good, but the Druids didn't govern the lands at all; rather, they advised them and helped them improve the quality of their lives through technology and magic. -talk- the_ed17 -contribs- 21:17, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And thats the reason for the qoutation marks, I wasn't sure of the word to use. How bout this:
Allanon represents all remaining knowledge in a living person from before the Great Wars, he also represents the Last of the Great Druids. The Druids were the Council of Advisors that advised and helped the Four Lands improve the quality of their lives through technology and magic, before the Great Wars.

 Cdmajavatalk

That's fine now. =D -talk- the_ed17 -contribs- 22:56, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's alright, but what about "...through the use of technology and magic"? Cheers, Zacharycrimsonwolf 15:37, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ooo this is better...maybe "...through the teaching and applications of technology and magic"? -talk- the_ed17 -contribs- 16:48, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Much better. --Zacharycrimsonwolf 05:14, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Works for me. Cdmajavatalk

Where does this go?[edit]

That stuff about Allanon we decided on in the previous talk session? Where should it go?

Allanon represents all remaining knowledge in a living person from before the Great Wars, he also represents the Last of the Great Druids. The Druids were the Council of Advisors that advised and helped the Four Lands improve the quality of their lives through through the teaching and application of technology and magic, before the Great Wars.

I was just wondering where to put it...

Improvement Tag[edit]

Do you think we can remove the improve ment from the Sword of Shannara section? Cdmajavatalk  00:54, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, and I did it. =) —the_ed17— 02:15, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

BRD re recent removal of article clean up tags[edit]

User:The ed17 recently removed several article cleanup tags, but left an unrelated msg in the edit comment. The edit comment was:

"2013-11-04T17:51:57‎ The ed17 (talk | contribs)‎ . . (8,571 bytes) (-334)‎ . . (rv removal of content, we've been over this)"

Actually, no content was involved; rather, it was The ed17 who removed legitimate challenges to unsourced and potentially original research statements in the article, and his edit removed 300+ bytes from the article, not the other way around. I have reverted that edit.

So, per WP:BRD, starting this section to discuss it. Cheers. N2e (talk) 18:50, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

With no discussion by The ed17 in over a week, it would appear that there may not have been any good rationale for the removal of the article cleanup tags in the first place. N2e (talk) 15:24, 29 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
