Laneway house[edit]

A parallel article Laneway house exists and it might be useful to merge them. Any objections? Rwood128 (talk) 17:25, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I was not aware of the term laneway house but it does look similar. It's really interesting as well for the fact that these houses in Canada are part of a recent trend, when in many places similar housing is solely a historic holdover.
I would not object to a merger, it would help fill out this article to have this content as a 'Canada' section in the broader topic of alley houses globally. Part of my intent in creating the article was to link together sources describing alley houses in different regions, since many places have different local names for them, and tertiary sources may even go as far as to describe the housing style as unique to a particular locale despite having precedent in a number of different geographic settings. --Middle river exports (talk) 17:43, 25 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Although, the one minor difference is that it looks like laneway houses can be detached. The leading description on this page is probably too specific in any case, so I am going to update it to say that alley houses are often terraced rather than stating that's a defining characteristic. --Middle river exports (talk) 17:45, 25 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
