My comments on the current tags[edit]

A major contributor to this article appears to have a close connection with its subject. (November 2018)

Personally, I rather got the impression that someone has written a stub, with the intention that others flesh it out. -- I appreciate this kind of posting new pages to Wikipedia, because without these, many subjects would forever remain without a page.

The idea is that one person notices a lack on Wikipedia, but since they are not experts on the subject, they settle for simply writing a stub. (Which is a thousand times better than not even doing that.)

Therefore, I consider the above Tag an insult to Wikipedia readers/writers and to all non-professional contributors.

Especially the bit about close connection, since I can well imagine that I'd have written the precisely same text after some preliminary searching on the net. -- And I am in no way affiliated with Alpha Tauri, direct or indirect.

The topic of this article may not meet Wikipedia's general notability guideline. (November 2018)

About notability: Alpha Tauri will be the new name of an F1-team. I have a hard time "questioning the notability" of this article stub because this name-change affects half a billion TV [viewers] globally.

In other words, this is not a case of some mom-and-pop shop advertising their firm on Wikipedia. Rather, people all over the world search and google "Alpha Tauri" to find out what it's all about. -- Precisely why Wikipedia exists, right? Gwrede (talk) 19:40, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

With regards to your second point. Notability is not inherited. Nor should something have a wikipedia page because people are going to search for it. Contary to what you say, that is not what Wikipedia is about (see WP:GOOGLEHITS).
