Amazon Marketplace feedback[edit]

An interesting point on Amazon Marketplace feedback is you can ONLY provide feedback after a transaction. Why is this an issue ? Well many sellers seem to adopt the policy of selling for VERY low prices i.e 0.01p or $0.01 then hitting you with a high delivery cost. This is not clear at all until you have almost completed a transaction. If you could add feedback without completing a transaction with a seller you could warn others about this and thus, maybe, stop this fraudulent practice. Ok, so people could then maybe post bad feedback about sellers they have no dealt with, but how likely this is I don't know.

I have raised this issue with amazon and I'm now waiting a reply. What do others think of this low selling price practice ? Should it be allowed ? Is it honest ? Should feedback be allowed without a seller transaction ?

Yes amazon sets the shipping price NOT the sellers. We have no control over how much amazon charges for S&H. (Worse still, they often charge the customer $5.00 to ship, say, a DVD..... and then only give us sellers around $3.00. So amazon pockets the other ~$2.00 for what? They did nothing to justify keeping those two dollars of S&H fees.)

Wording issues[edit]

"Quality of service can vary as widely as people on a planet". This is wrong on so many levels. First, WP is not a soapbox. Second, analogies such as this should NEVER be used in proper English for encyclopedic writing - how do people on a planet vary, exactly? Jds2001 (talk) 08:17, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Preparing for a rewrite[edit]

Over the next week or so I am going to rewrite this article. I think we can all agree that it is in pretty bad shape right now.

Is this on anyone's watch list, and if so, do you have any suggestions, citations, etc?

I also plan on creating a related page named Fulfillment by Amazon.
