Needs more references[edit]

He seems to be a notable figure in Assam but I'm having trouble finding good references. Most of what I can find talk about him in passing, even though they acknowledge his prominence. I've looked for "Ambikagiri Raychoudhury" and "Ambikagiri Roychoudhury". Are there any other spellings? ... discospinster _talk 00:09, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination for Speedy deletion[edit]

The article is being brought under section 7A qualifying it for deletion. I present following points against it.

I do not think that it qualifies under Section A7. First of all the people who have already substantiated it, made the significance of the personality stand out for itself. Secondly, Ambikagiri Raychoudhury's role in freedom struggle of India is mentioned by numerous historians of repute. The only thing required is to substantiate the biography with verifiable facts. I repeat that it is not about a person or group merely to promote the name. He is a historic person.

No doubt, there is dearth of material on this historic person. However, one can not overlook the historic importance of the person. The need is of finding the verifiable sources or an expert or a scholar who had worked on Assame literature and role of Assam in freedom struggle of India.

In case it is removed, then it will be a great loss.
