Date of birth, nationality[edit]

I can find these on Prabook (1941, American), but that is not a reliable source. Further searches have found nothing. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 04:34, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It may require setting up an account but you get four free articles. We can get copies at WP:RX if not directly. Gleeanon409 (talk) 06:47, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Gleeanon409: I'm not sure how helpful or relevant items like her marriages and divorces are to the article. WP:LOWPROFILE would seem to apply, in which case personal information unrelated to her notability should probably to be included.ThatMontrealIP (talk) 15:57, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
This is like peeling an onion where new information is found with new sources. Wendell, for instance, is likely notable on his own. It might be best to wait a bit before judging something isn’t important enough. It can be removed later on if nothing is unearthed. Gleeanon409 (talk) 19:53, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The point of WP:BLP is that it is not necessary to include detailed personal information on things like marriages, children, family, as they are not related to the person's notability. Per WP:BLPNAME, The presumption in favor of privacy is strong in the case of family members of articles' subjects and other loosely involved, otherwise low-profile persons. The names of any immediate, former, or significant family members or any significant relationship of the subject of a BLP may be part of an article, if reliably sourced, subject to editorial discretion that such information is relevant to a reader's complete understanding of the subject. However, names of family members who are not also notable public figures must be removed from an article if they are not properly sourced. Given that, I don't see how including any information on her family members and past marriages contributes anything to understanding her work as a journalist. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 20:06, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
And I’ll point out again that it’s too soon to tell as not all sources have even been looked at, you’re judging the facts prematurely, and all the names are suitably sourced to live comfortably in a Draft for the meanwhile. Gleeanon409 (talk) 20:15, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
As you like, but it is poor editing on your part to include such tangential family trivia.ThatMontrealIP (talk) 20:20, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Too soon to tell although both brothers are likely notable on their own.
Also BLPNAME is only about the name itself, not the rest of the content, and “The names of any immediate, former, or significant family members or any significant relationship of the subject of a BLP may be part of an article, if ... such information is relevant to a reader's complete understanding of the subject.” Gleeanon409 (talk) 20:28, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I don't know to make the arrow to start a new line. Anyway, I did a bit of reorganizing here, adding a Family section etc. I wished to separate Amei's info from the family info, for the sake of logic. At this point, I am wishing we had enough info on Gerda to make an article! Thanks & respect to both TMIP and Gleeanon409.Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 00:37, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Still wondering about the relevance of previous/current marriages for privacy's sake, as Tribe of Tiger pointed out to me recently. Gerda does seem very relevant/notable, but maybe it's possible to focus more on Amei's work? That said, I haven't had much luck finding any other awards besides the one listed. Does anyone know if including film festivals where her work has been shown is relevant here?Nutellab (talk) 18:00, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Nutellab:I think the marriages are okay, as they were public info. I think it was the location, paired with her husband's name, all in the same sentence, that troubled me.
Perhaps the film festivals would help to prove her notability. Good thought! Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 20:03, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bibliography, works, etc as section header for books, etc by Wallach[edit]

@ThatMontrealIP: and @Gleeanon409:, at some point I changed Bibligraphy to Works, per a hazy memory. I have now located the MOS info, MOS:BIB... I believe this section well-addresses the point:

"Bibliography" is discouraged because it is not clear whether it is limited to the works of the subject of the article.[1] "Works" or "Publications" should be plural, even if it lists only a single item.

As the section lists works published BY Wallach (publications/works), vs ABOUT (bibliographical references) ,Wallach, I do honestly feel that a change is needed. I am making this change, but welcome, as always, your perspectives. Respectfully, Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 23:46, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Additional note, re: above. If we retitle this section as "Works", I think we can then also list her film work here, as the section title would encompass various items, both published and film, etc.Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 00:38, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Works seems appropriate then, and folding in filmography is a great idea. Gleeanon409 (talk) 02:49, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Changed to works, and added the 3 films. Edits welcomed, as always.Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 00:39, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
