Notability[edit]

I have removed the notability tag on the basis of this organization being a publisher of the Journal of Arachnology which is reasonably well cited in Google Scholar. (talk) 17:35, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In house publications and when the society acts as the publisher of a book do not, in my estimation, establish the notability and 3rd party clauses that we must follow. I have restored the notability and refimprove tags based on this determination. Hasteur (talk) 17:39, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough, though you'll note that I added these tags originally. Personally I would consider 38+ years of academic publication history (available on JSTOR) as reasonably significant. (talk) 17:45, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the tags after the article has been improved to cite several new species being first published in the journal and the changes have been stable for a couple of months. This seems fair grounds for notability seeing as the general policy is that any distinct species is notable enough for its own stand-alone article. (talk) 09:44, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
