Istanbul or Constantinople[edit]

The cited source gives "Constantinople" as the name of the place where Amirdovlat wrote and served Mehmed II. That ought to settle it, unless you can dig up a cited source that says otherwise.

For what it's worth, here on Wikipedia the article Mehmed II also says "Constantinople" throughout, and the articles Constantinople, Istanbul, and Names of Istanbul all say that the city remained some form of "Constantinople" throughout the Ottoman period and "Istanbul" didn't become the city's official name until the Republic. —Paul A (talk) 08:32, 11 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
