Lead[edit]

  • studio album El Deseo de Oír Tu Voz on January 1996 → Replace "on" with "in"
  • It is an acoustic pop rock song in which the singer asks love to give him a chance. → To avoid the repetition of "it", try the following construction: "An acoustic pop rock song, it lyrically features the singer asking love to give him a chance
  • Link "acoustic" to Acoustic rock
  • In the United States, it reached on top of the Billboard Hot Latin Songs → In the United States, it reached the summit of the Billboard Hot Latin Songs
  • spent 11 weeks in this position → spent 11 weeks at this position
  • It ended 1996 as the second best-performing Latin song of the year in the country → In 1996, it ended as the second-best performing Latin song of the year in the country
  • In another sentence, inform the reader that the song peaked at number one on the Latin Pop Songs chart ("'Amor' also reached number one on...")
  • and directed by Castro and features the artist → and directed by Castro, featuring the artist

Infobox[edit]

  • Was this a full-fledged single or a promotional release? In the "format" parameter, you say "promo single" (which btw isn't a format, but a type of a single), but that is contradicting since you used the "single infobox" for this article. A promo single would use this infobox presented here. But again, this is contradicting, as you're calling "Amor" a single. What does source #4 exactly say about the song's release?
  • Where have you got the length of the song from? If it's the album or a CD single, you need to cite liner notes
  • Label also isn't cited anywhere
  • Fixed sample issue by myself

Background[edit]

  • Mention who wrote the song
  • Link New York City
  • which he recorded in New York City. → which he recorded in the aforementioned place
  • "Amor" was released as → change "released" to "made available", in order to avoid word repetition
  • The music video for the song → An accompanying music video for the song
  • The video features him → It features him (word repetition)
  • Link fedora
  • and a Vespa, aerobics → and a Vespa, doing aerobics
  • What does "singing a one-man band" mean?
  • This section should be called "Background and music video", as it gives details over the video, which does not belong to the background of the song

Music and lyrics[edit]

  • the lyrics in "Amor" is not about a woman → "lyrics" is plural, so it needs to be: "the lyrics in 'Amor' are not about a woman"
  • the track is described by John Lannert of Billboard as a "smooth acoustic rock" → Remove a
  • while the Democrat and Chronicle → comma before "while"
  • Link pop rock

Reception[edit]

  • 11 consecutive weeks in this position → 11 consecutive weeks at this position
  • "Amor" ended 1996 as the second best-performing → "Amor" ended in 1996 as the second-best performing
  • country after "Un Millón de Rosas" by La Mafia → I feel like "behind" fits better here than "after"

Charts[edit]

  • I've already fixed the table by myself
  • Why is there not "Hot..." in the year-end charts table?

Other stuff[edit]

Copy-violation[edit]

  • 34.2% is still acceptable!

References[edit]

  • As far as I checked them, the references do cover the assertations made in this article (I can't verify the books, so I trust you with this!)
  • No dead links! Good job!

Outcome[edit]

  •  On hold There are some things to work on here, especially on the citability of facts, but otherwise the article is in a good shape. I'll grant you 7 days to edit the article. Best regards; Cartoon network freak (talk) 22:11, 24 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the lack of response, I'm only off work on Wednesdays and Fridays and I've been feeling ill the past few days. I'll start on it either tonight or tomorrow. Erick (talk) 15:43, 28 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Magiciandude: No worries! Hope you're fine... Best regards; Cartoon network freak (talk) 16:32, 28 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) @Cartoon network freak:, this actually took less time than I expected, so I've addressed the issues you brought up. One important thing I want to mention is that I went back to the website where I got the cover for single and it contained the year of release, label, and track duration. So I sourced the CD single itself. Thanks for the review! Erick (talk) 16:33, 28 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Good job with the article! It's ready for promotion with my issues being now solved. Congrats! Cartoon network freak (talk) 16:45, 28 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
