Brenneman is a common name among the Pennsylvania Dutch (really of German or Swiss origin), with most seeming to come from the area of Bern around AD 1700 to southeastern Pennsylvania. Many since fanned out into northern Virginia and into Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan westward. To be sure, many assimilated into WASP communities. This Brenneman family was definitely not Jewish; it was Mennonite. The middle name of her father, "Langdon" suggests WASP origin. To be sure, just about any Germanic surname "can be Jewish". and if Amy Brenneman has a Jewish mother she is Jewish by maternal inheritance.

If she has any known deceased Brenneman ancestors I can probably show evidence that she also belongs to "Americans of Swiss Ancestry" no matter what her faith is.Pbrower2a (talk) 02:40, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If the Russell Langdon Brenneman (born in 1901) shown in this family tree (his descendants are vague because of genealogical ethics that prohibit the display of identifying information on living people who might then be subjected to exploitation or abuse) is a grandfather or great-grandfather *less likely a father), then the paternal line of Amy Brenneman can be traced to the area of Bern, Switzerland.Pbrower2a (talk) 02:58, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Her paternal grandparents were indeed the Russell Langdon Brenneman you mention, and Anita M. Seeds. Her maternal grandparents, Allen Schoenfield and Kate Freedman, were both Jewish. It appears that Amy's mother converted to Christianity at some point in her marriage to Russell Brenneman, Jr. All Hallow's Wraith (talk) 05:18, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Eye condition[edit]

If you take a look at IMDB's profile of her, it's obvious she has an eye condition. Why's this not discussed in the article. I bet if it was an African American, Hispanic American, or Asian American's article it would have been included in the rough draft.
