Is this article about Shark as an artists or Amy as a person?

Because her "music" career started in high school and her public singing started in 2007, not 2014.

And she released songs as Amy Cushway in (at least) 2010, as Amy Billings in 2013.

May 2020 deletion[edit]

Consider the following differences in the article's history, here. @HankBate123: could you explain why you removed this material? It was sourced by reliable references and generally related to her early life. HankBate123's contribution looks like he's a PR employee. If a subject of an article wants to edit some materials that she sees as errors or unfair material about herself, she is welcomed to the Talk page. See WP:BIOSELF. Blanking is not unacceptable and the reversion is fairly justified.

Nevertheless, Shaidar cuebiyar, your contribution seems a little too excessive and detailed. Would you rehash your text after the evaluation of the included quotes' and other information's noteworthiness with the help of the WP:MOSBIO style guide while keeping a potential reader in mind? --Dignitee (talk) 12:07, 1 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wall of Sound and possible WP:PROMOTION[edit]

On 23 October 2020 @Brownypaul87:: added information about the artist's single, "C'mon", citing a website, Wall of Sound, with an article there written by brownypaul (see here). This is one of many wp edits by that user, almost invariably supplying information from Wall of Sound as written by brownypaul. This process appears to be in contravention of WP:PROMOTION. I deleted that information and reference from this article and replaced it with another source (see here).

On the following day an ISP @106.71.249.83: deleted the new information and reference I had supplied and returned the Wall of Sound material (see here). I warned that user that this material appeared to contravene WP:PROMOTION on their talkpage and reverted their edits here. Later that same user returned the material, which I have subsequently reverted. To avoid an edit war I ask for any editors to justify the use of Wall of Sound in this article when it was supplied by a user with almost the same name as the writer at the website. The possibility of self-promotion is evidenced by User:Brownypaul87 attempts to create a wp page, Paul "Browny" Brown, in 2017.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 01:10, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Just reiterating my claim here as I didn't mean to engage in an [edit war]. I provided information about the artist's new song and updated the page accordingly with a link back to the information that was supplied to us from the label and artist herself. Hours later this as changed to another publication's article on the same song with a "personal" review of the song, rather than information supplied by label and artist. This is a self-indulgent self-promotion act whereas the article I posted was based around information given to us by representatives. @Shaidar cuebiyar: I would like to know the reason why the article was linked to that certain publication, hours after my citation was given. Do you have a connection to the publication yourself? @Brownypaul87: thank you for your quick response here. If you check the article's Revision history you'll see that the potential edit war was with another user @106.71.249.83:: who returned the Wall of Sound material. I provided the new source from Tone Deaf via Seventh Street Media as the website Tone Deaf has existed for several years and is being used in numerous articles for Australian music on wp. It has editorial oversight. I have no association with Tone Deaf, Seventh Street Media, their staff or owners. Although I have used the source in other articles here at wp, I edit on numerous articles and do not add a Tone Deaf attribtution to most edits.

If you own, write for and edit Wall of Sound as browynpaul and then edit multiple pages at wp as Brownypaul87 (or other users) you may be contravening WP:PROMOTION (see also WP:PAID) Your userpage indicates you write for them but it is not clear whether you are also a paid contributor. Furthermore in 2017 and 2018 you attempted to create a wp article on Paul "Browny" Brown but it was declined due to insufficient reliable secondary sources. This increases the likelihood of self-promotion.

Look, I didn't want to step on any toes here, I'm just trying to help the bands/artists we cover with additional promotion for their music/careers that's supplied to us by labels, PR or the bands directly. I'm still trying to work my way around this site and at the end of the day, it's about updating the musicians' information we cover. We are leaders in our field and have information other sites don't touch, hence why I want to update their pages with that relevant info. Being a smaller site, I'd like to build our credibility on here like bigger publications such as Kerrang and Rolling Stone and I have no idea what the right way to go about doing that or creating our own page is, without it being considered "self-promotion", however bands have used our reviews and articles for their own pages as critical responses without us doing anything, so I'm just looking at ways to assist that side of it 04:24, 26 October 2020 (UTC)~~ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brownypaul87 (talk • contribs) 15:24, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Check Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not especially sections 2.3 Wikipedia is not a soapbox or means of promotion and 2.9 Wikipedia is not a newspaper. If independent editors use your site to provide content, which is verifiable at other independent sources, then that is acceptable. However problems occur when paid contributors edit here to sell products or promote their websites. These are not reliable nor independent and so have a Conflict of Interest. You should be very cautious on how you "build our credibility on here" and not just edit articles to add links to your website, promote your reviews or to use information "supplied to us by labels, PR or the bands directly." Rather you should edit other articles without linking to your website or providing reviews and avoid any articles with which you have had a direct association or vested interest.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 05:52, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I contacted @Diannaa:, who determined that Brownypaul87's statement above shows that they are using WP for advertising. Album count[edit]

As Amy Cushway, the artist released two albums and two EPs. However, Love Monster, is referred to as her debut album in this article. Should this be changed to her third album? Will Cry Forever be her fourth album when it appears in 2021? Similar problems occur on her related articles for singles, EPs and albums. e.g. is Night Thinker her debut EP or her fourth one?
