Propose eliminating two sections on Puerto Rican politics and history[edit]

The section titled Historic Context is not necessary as it can be summarized in a sentence with links to other articles in Wikipedia. It distracts from the main subject of the article, which is on the author (Vega). The section on Political Activity should have a reference or source. This paragraph appears on other articles verbatim (for example, see Mayra Montero), suggesting contributor pasted same paragraph in numerous articles. Vega's support for the independence movement should be noted but not by highlighting one proclamation.--Lawrlafo (talk) 01:22, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I reiterate my suggestion to eliminate or rewrite the section on politics, which is repeated in numerous Wikipedia articles.--Lawrlafo (talk) 05:11, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

Since the article now has 25 scholarly references, I believe the indication of "lack of references" can be eliminated.--Lawrlafo (talk) 05:11, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tone and Nature of Discussion[edit]

This article is for the most part very poorly written and should be substantially edited. Sections on "Historic Context" and "Politics" should be eliminated or reduced. Simplistic statements should also be eliminated.--Lawrlafo (talk) 05:18, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
