I don't know about the other two people listed, but I do know that Evel Knievel is not from Anaconda. He is from the nearby town of Butte. 66.62.91.130 21:13, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Another notable native of Anaconda is Archbishop Raymond Hunthausen - Retired Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Seattle, the Diocese of Helena and former President of Carroll College in Helena.

That building is on the National Register of Historic Places. The site includes basic text from a city historian and relevant photographs. The website has affiliate links to Amazon books about Anaconda, but this link is not a spam link. Until WP has an article about this building (which it should, it's a redlink from List of Registered Historic Places in Montana) it's a relevant link for the Anaconda article. I'm not going to fight it, but on the whole, there are probably dozens of external sites that meet the criteria you mention here. Much better to incorporate that information into our page by rewriting it in Wikipedia style. The fact that we don't yet have a page for that building is no reason for this link; it is a reason for creating the page. My 2 cents. Cheers Geologyguy 21:51, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Geologyguy is correct; the lack of an article is not a reason to include a link about it. The link in question was one of about 100 or so instances from a spam campaign that I just cleaned up. Please do not add it again. OhNoitsJamie Talk 21:58, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sneaky stuff - lots of IPs. Thanks for all that work cleaning it up, Jamie. Geologyguy 22:07, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I see now what you were doing and I've broken the talk page link. It's still the best EL for a historic site and my initial Special:LinkSearch wasn't showing them as spammy (because you'd acted faster than my search, obviously). I know it's annoying but sometimes when removing links like that, if someone objects, a "heads up" talk commentary is better than coming back to re-delete it three times. SchmuckyTheCat 22:22, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You're right, I should've made a note of that sooner. (I sometimes get on a roll where I'm reverting stuff pretty quickly). Thanks for your patience! Cheers, OhNoitsJamie Talk 22:35, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
