Deceased[edit]

It was announced at Caltech on Friday, Jan 22, 2010, that Lange had been found dead. Noting that there was no WP article about him despite his high notability, I have created this stub, and apologize for its grave deficiency. I know nothing of him personally, and only the bare minimum professionally. No doubt much more will be coming as obituaries appear in the next week. Sadly, Wwheaton (talk) 07:11, 23 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Caltech president Jean-Lou Chameau states in his letter that "it appears he took his own life". While this must appear in reliable and verifiable sources very shortly, I hesitate to put such painful information into the article before it is truly public knowledge, not based on an internal Caltech communication, even though thousands will have received it. So, I leave it to wiser heads than mine. Wwheaton (talk) 08:00, 23 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
