transliteration[edit]

I don't quite understand the sentence Tychonoff originally published in German, whence the transliteration. I assume it refers to the fact that the name is spelled with -ff rather than -v. But I think the transliteration -y- for -и- is very atypical for German; it seems to come from a French transliteration. --Aleph4 14:53, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Geophysics[edit]

Contradictions with other languages wikipedia articles about his death date[edit]

In both the French and German corresponding articles the date indicated is in Nov.1993 (but they still differ from one another for 1 day: F 8.11.93 D 7.11.93 but this might be due to different time zones used). Here we have october. Does someone know what is correct - best with relevant source? I guess october is wrong, because F and D nearly agree ...--UKe-CH (talk) 10:21, 15 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
