notability, neologism[edit]

It's still not quite clear from the article that the term "anecdotal value" is established as used in the article. It makes me think it might be not notable, particularly that it might be a neologism. A Google scholar] on "anecdotal value" generally uses it in a disparaging way, "only anecdotal value", "no more than anecdotal value" and the like. CRETOG8(t/c) 17:06, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is notable but not yet in online sources. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Critic11 (talkcontribs) 19:48, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Forgot to sign! I was going to add that quantifying anecdotal value is infamously difficult, which is why it is usually disparaged; however, scholars working on Framing are seeking to measure the effect of Av. Critic11 (talk) 20:01, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I hope you're right because I think I'd find it interesting. In the meantime, please leave the notability tag. Obviously you believe it's notable since you've created the article. I (and another earlier editor) aren't convinced yet.CRETOG8(t/c) 14:17, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Shirky's cognitive surplus[edit]

The connection to Shirky's cognitive surplus needs to be a lot clearer. First, it needs to be clear that the CS concept is notable itself, and a blog entry isn't enough. Then, there needs to be reference to how someone else has made the connection between the two. The connection needs to come from another source, not be made for the first time in this article. Ok I'm on it.Critic11 (talk) 19:12, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
