What is this?[edit]

This article appears to be about the origin of the medieval Frisians. The current title is not good English. "Anglo-Saxon" does not mean what this article is taking it to mean. Srnec (talk) 04:19, 8 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The usage of the name Frisian is unpopular because it could confuse people with the older Frisii and the later Frisians from the modern province of Friesland. I agree that the term Anglo-Saxon is not perfect but it is used in the literature. It is also not established that the southern Ingveonic speakers would have been Frisian or their own group, sometimes simply called Ingveonic or Ingveonic Hollandic.
