I've put in the layout of the page, when the note come up, I hadnt put in the additional information yet. I have no done this and believe that the no-content should be removed, or at least changed to a stub.

Need for linking spelling variations[edit]

I'm just making this note here because I don't have time now, but it doesn't look as if this article and Anmatyerre have appropriate links and redirections. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 08:24, 20 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Laterthanyouthink:, I have the following comments. Anmatjere is the official spelling used by the NT Government in respect to both the Anmatjere Community and the locality gazetted in 2007 - Anmatjere, Northern Territory (which is an article that I started and uploaded today after another editor removed 'red links' in respect to this article from another article]]. I have noticed that the following all redirect to Anmatyerre - Anmatyerr, Anmatjirra, Amatjere and Anmatjera. I recently added a disambiguation page, Anmatyerre (disambiguation), which picks up both Anmatjere Community and Anmatjere, Northern Territory. However, a potential problem is that the disambiguation page contains two different spellings of what is effectively the same word. I have looked at the WP manual of style and was not able to find any mention of such a situation (which is probably not that uncommon) Otherwise, I think all of the articles are now appropriately linked and redirected apart from the possible need for a redirect with the name Anmatjere and adding Anmatyerr, Anmatjirra, Amatjere and Anmatjera to Anmatyerre (disambiguation) under a "See also" heading. @Cowdy001: - Thanks for doing all of that, that's a great improvement. That DAB page is tricky, with the different spellings - but I think will be fine as it is. I see that the redirect Anmatjere leads straight to Anmatjere Community at the moment, which should probably lead to Anmatyerre (disambiguation) - I will change that. It looks as if the other four that you mention all lead to Anmatyerre, so doesn't that cover them? And on that latter page, I think I'll change it to spell out "For other uses, see Anmatyerre (disambiguation)".

I've done a few changes now. All very confusing - if what I've said above or done is not clear, or incorrect, please let me know and/or revert! I am now wondering whether it may be better if all of the the main articles about the various groups should have "people" in the title, where appropriate, as the language ones are followed by "language" (e.g. Kaurna people, Kaurna language)... But that is too big a task to look at now, and there may be reasons for why it is the way it is... Laterthanyouthink (talk) 10:07, 27 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
