Why is she referred to as a "politician?" Federal judges are politically insulated and are NOT politicians.Lindsay 00:49, 27 September 2007 (UTC)Lindsay[reply]

It's narrower designation than "bio" I guess. It's just a stub tag, but I changed it. Katr67 03:42, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
First, federal judges are politicians, even though they do not run for election. Second, she was previously a county judge, and those do require election, though non-partisan. But more importantly, to quote the wikipedia defenition of politician: politician is an individual who is a formally recognized and active member of a government
And as her decision demonstrated, she is an active member of the government. An elected official is not the only way to be a politician. Aboutmovies 04:33, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Aboutmovies, wikipedia may define a politician that way, but the point of the federal constitutional design is that federal judges are politically insulated. They have life tenure. And there is almost nothing Congress or the people can do about it. No need to really argue this point, but I'm confident if you asked a political scientist whether federal judges are politicians, they'd say no. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lindsay123 (talkcontribs) 12:18, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bot-created subpage[edit]

A subpage at Ann L. Aiken/fjc was automatically created by a perl script, based on this article at the Biographical Directory of Federal Judges. The subpage should either be merged into this article, or moved and disambiguated. Polbot (talk) 22:22, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Or the subpage should be redirected here as the FJC is already integrated as a source. Aboutmovies (talk) 03:51, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Added stuff about the Malheur standoff[edit]

Figured it was relevant, seeing as she was involved in the resentencing ruling. Titanium Dragon (talk) 21:01, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
