Name change[edit]

Why has it been changed from Anna of Austria (1573-1598) to Anne of Austria, Queen of Poland? She was queen of both Poland and Sweden. Therefore, it would be more correct to say: Anne of Austria, Queen of Poland and Sweden. That name would perhaps be to long, so would'nt it be better with Anna of Austria (1573-1598)?--85.226.45.47 (talk) 12:31, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Because years of birth and death are not a useful way to disambiguate. More people will recognize this Anne of Austria as Queen of Poland than as someone born in 1573. Why Poland and not Sweden? Well, for starters, she was Queen of Poland a bit longer than she was Queen of Sweden. She resided in Poland much longer than she resided in Sweden and even died in Poland. Her husband is identified first as King of Poland, which is why the article about him is titled Sigismund III Vasa and not Sigismund of Sweden. Queen of Poland is there just to disambiguate her from other archduchesses of Austria named Anne. Had there been another Polish queen named Anne of Austria, this article would've been named Anne of Austria, Queen of Sweden. Surtsicna (talk) 12:45, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
