Establishing notability[edit]

Antone created her own style of realistic and portrait coiled basketry (that no one else has successfully replicated). She's one of the top award-winning southwest Native basketmakers today, and her work is in significant collections (for instance, British Museum, pretty good for a living artist). She's featured in Susan Brown McGreevy's book, Indian Basketry Artists of the Southwest as well as being mentioned in several other books, as has been the subject of several articles. She's in major craft/basket exhibitions, e.g. Carriers of Culture and Changing Hands. Hopefully that is sufficient. Cheers, -Uyvsdi (talk) 17:10, 22 April 2009 (UTC)Uyvsdi[reply]

Works for me ;-]
Incidentally, if I get off my butt & photograph my one Annie Antone basket, can we use it? I get hopelessly confused on the living-artist photo rules -- but I do own the basket, so I think we could use my free-licensed photo? TIA, Pete Tillman (talk) 05:45, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
