ALSO...

Many of the great film and paper processing formulas were sold and published by Ansco. Many photographers today who do serious printing continue to use old Ansco formulas (they can mixed from scratch from stock chemicals). 1842???[edit]

Surely there must be more to the story if they were founded as a photography business in 1842 which is near the dawn of practical photography chemistry.

or use cumbersome re-exposure steps I just bought an Ansco Deluxe Developing Outfit which is mostly for black and white processing. The included tank has a clear plastic reel top, and the instruction book explains its use for re-exposure in Anscochrome processing. As far as I know, then, Anscochrome also requires the same re-exposure as E2 Ektachrome. Gah4 (talk) 20:14, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Expample slide of winter scene in media (/ stability of old slide film?)[edit]

Author of this scanned (and somewhat faded looking) slide mentions scan on a 'hp 6500'. The only HP product by this name is an officejet multifunctional not meant for or really capable of slide scanning. This could give appearance of more degradation then has actually taken place, compared to a scan made with a proper transparancy scanner.

Recommend new section if archival and colour stability is to be discussed, instead of just hinting at it with a single slide of unknown origins and storage conditions. There must be many more slides out there to verify possible colour shifts.

Conjecture![edit]

"The ruthless behavior of Eastman nearly drove the now-named ANSCO out of business, but a settlement in 1905 saved the company from bankruptcy. Eastman Kodak got away cheaply on this legal proceeding."

This is conjecture. The facts are there was a patent infringement suit which Ansco won, and was paid. "Ruthless" "Cheaply" are conjecture.

I suggest a re-write of this section and the section below which includes similar conjecture. Femike99 (talk) 15:39, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
