Transponder[edit]

As the transponder itself is concealed, the thief would not be aware that such a system is active on a vehicle until they had ejected the driver and moved the vehicle out of range of the driver (usually only a couple of meters).

This is unsourced sounds a bit dangerous and/or futile to me. Once the vehicle stops, the hijacker is not going to be pleased. If you're lucky he/she may just take the transponder. Unlikely and he/she may harm you in the process. I would presume 50 metres or so would be more ideal. Effective as an anti-theft device maybe but as anti-hijack?
