Regarding the cleanuptag[edit]

The article should be cleaned up, and should contain an easier explanation of what Apelin is in layman terms. Bjelleklang - talk 22:02, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The article has been significantly reorganized and expanded and I think at least the lead is now understandable to a broad audience. Therefore I have taken down the technical banner. Cheers. Boghog (talk) 19:13, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"expressed in plasma"[edit]

My understanding of expression is that a RNA is transcribed which is translated into a protein. This takes place in a cell. Therefore, since plama is cell-free, expression is not possible in plasma. It should read "found in plasma" or "secreted into the plasma". B.Kleine (talk) 15:17, 18 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
