Willows Software[edit]

Were Willows Software, Inc. formally Multiport, Inc, as stated, or formerly Multiport, Inc? Rojomoke (talk) 16:29, 1 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Formerly according to the provided sources. However, I could not find any more information about Multiport, Inc. or Hunter Systems, Inc. (also mentioned in the article).
The history of the Willows company should be discussed in better details in this or another article. At present, the Caldera OpenLinux article can be read, as if Willows would have been a Novell technology originally, and then outsourced to Willows in 1993 or 1994 (which may contradict the Multiport/Hunter Systems stuff here). It would therefore be interesting to know when exactly Willows was founded (before Ray Noorda left Novell or afterwards?), given that Willows was a Canopy Group company. They also had a product named TWIN, which was later open-sourced by Canopy. See:
