Citrix ADC vendor guy[edit]

This article needs a big revamp, ADC is about application delivery NOT specific to web delivery like the article describes. The big ADC players right now are Citrix Netscaler, F5, Riverbed Zeus (formerly stingray) and a few others. ADCs are a key component to successful cloud based deployments of real services where CPU/RAM/IO throughput are important resources that ADCs can reduce impact on significantly for large deployments. I work for an ADC vendor so i'm *not* neutral so i wont edit the page.

The second part about being segmented into network optimisation and application specific optimisation is outdated also. Today's top tier ADCs now do both. A distinction between WAN-OP devices and ADCs is still there today, however these technologies are merging into singular products that do both. CPU processing power along with newer architecture of customised chip-sets makes its possible to do both on modern hardware.

Yes, certainly needs to be put into historical perspective if nothing else. Generally never use present tense in computer articles since the industry changes so fast! And as for below, independent sources would be good. W Nowicki (talk) 23:26, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Vendors[edit]

Moved to talk. Is a list of vendors appropriate?

Unless someone is going to create a seperate 'list of ADC vendors' article, then there's no reason not to have this list here. The list is not long (and not likely to be), it isnt detracting from the article as a whole, no company is getting favored over another, so it's not promotional... I say put it back in. Thoughts? I would agree although I think I would either remove legacy vendors or separate them as very few of these are left or are separate companies. Cisco pulled out, Coyote was acquired and most of them I don't even know. Also, missing aiScaler Link8r (talk) 18:36, 20 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
