Additions[edit]

Clarification needed ..[edit]

1. Quote from the article: "Gradually, so-called Nasserism gained the support of other Arab presidents as they replaced monarchies in their countries, notably in Syria, Iraq, Libya, North Yemen, and Sudan."

Did Nasserism really gain support in conservative North Yemen? Wouldn't have South Yemen with its socialist tendencies (at least in Aden) had closer ties with Nasser's Egypt?

2. Quote: "The Soviet Union was unable to keep pace with the U.S. in supporting its Arab allies, the secular republics."

This is ambiguous as it can be understood to mean that the secular republics were the "Arab allies" of the U.S. while they were probably closer to the Soviet Union than the conservative monarchies.

Sources needed for the infobox[edit]

An infobox is most useful for an article on such a controversial/ambivalent topic; however, it currently has zero sources. Please add sources for all the countries listed in the detailed infobox or remove it altogether. I very much doubt whether it is really appropriate to list Romania as an outright supporter of the more conservative side of the Arab countries.Potugin (talk) 17:08, 16 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Egyptian teachers seconded to Arab states by destination, (1953–1962)[edit]

There is a reference to teachers sent to "Palestine". At this point in history by definition there was no palestinian arab state: Jordan had annexed the West Bank (April 1950) while Egypt governed the Gaza strip.

Were these teachers seconded to schools inside Gaza ? or the West Bank ? or Neither ? דןברקת (talk) 08:39, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
