There's no citations to much of the information cited here :(.Efkeathley 23:19, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Efkeathley, if you would like to add anything, feel free to do so. I made some substantial edits and added a few images, but as a fellow archivist, you may have more to add to this.Historyhermann1993 (talk) 18:44, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Undue weight?[edit]

I'm thinking this article requires a more complete list of appraisal theories but less of a dichotomy since macro appraisal and documentation strategy are more in agreement with each other than say the Black Box and Functional Analysis. I'd define micro versus macro appraisal and how they relate to Functional Analysis, Boles and Young's Black Box, and reappraisal as a part of collection management. Thoughts? Sadly you are no longer on here, but I agree the page could be improved.Historyhermann1993 (talk) 18:44, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV[edit]

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 00:36, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

New changes as of May 1, 2019[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians. As the de facto steward of this wonderful page, I made some substantial edits to this page in hopes of making it better, including two images from other articles on the same topic and the best image on archival appraisal I could find from Wikimedia. I hope others can add information about Carol Couture, François Burgy, and Daniel Ducharme mentioned in the German-language article. That would be appreciated.
