Renaming[edit]

Don't want to appear argumentative about this, but could we have a citation for the renaming of Potentilla anserina to Argentina anserina please? Plantsurfer (talk) 15:14, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Found something. Taxonomic reorganization can be difficult to source, but surely the fact all major database list it as Argentina should have been pertinent? Circeus (talk) 02:47, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That reference is now (5 years later) broken. The renaming isn't yet universal - the current standard British Flora still has this (and Dasiphora) in Potentilla.

Potentilla anserina The roots taste like parsnips and were often used by the people of Scotland, either roast or boiled. In Coll and Tiree, they were particularly valued as a famine food.
