There needs to be a category of renaissance and baroque ground basses and to put something about the more important ones such the cachonna, Passamezzo Moderno and Antico, Greensleeves ground, Bergamasca etc. as they are used as a resource by all the major composers right through to Purcell.

There are a huge number of treble and ground duets and other pieces based on this form throughout the renaissance and baroque and this needs properly indexing as a form in its own right.
