Image copyright problem with File:Arizona State University logo only.png[edit]

The image File:Arizona State University logo only.png is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

External links and general editing comments[edit]

I partially reverted some edits to this page due to violation of WP:EL which states that "Wikipedia articles may include links to web pages outside Wikipedia, which are external links, but they should not normally be used in the body of an article."

The "redlinked" colleges are listed that way because those red links indicate articles that still need to be created. Although it is understandable that someone would want to replace a redlink with an external link, the better option is to create an article so that the redlinks then point to completed articles. If there is not a need to create an article, then the link should be removed entirely. A few other things were removed because they are redundant, particularly the listings of individual campus buildings as external links. There is now a link to the campus tour that will cover all of those individual buildings.

An important thing that editors should keep in mind is that Wikipedia articles are to be encyclopedia articles and not promotional articles. That means keeping things concise, neutral, and matter-of-fact. Also, please be very cautious of the Conflict of Interest policies.

One last point: Note that the article for Arizona State University is separate from the articles that describe each of the four campuses. Because all academic, administrative, and student life aspects of the university are covered in the ASU article, these campus articles are simply to provide additional info on the physical campus. -Nicktalk 23:32, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
