Second sentence[edit]

Mistake in section 2009[edit]

This line says transgender people born in California could return to the country of their birth to obtain a new birth certificate, but the country of their birth would logically be the United States. Consider changing to "qualified transgender citizens of California".

"Also that same day, he vetoed AB 1185, which would have allowed qualified transgender people born in California to return to their county of birth to obtain a new birth certificate reflecting the correct gender, as well as any accompanying name change."
