In The News[edit]

In the early 1990s, while the state of Arizona was expanding the Loop 101 to the north, Arrowhead Ranch was in the news for supposedly promising to give the Arizona Department of Transportation land to the development of the freeway for free. The state said that the neighborhood and its developers would give the necessary land to the state if they agreed to move the freeway further north than planned allowing easier access for Arrowhead Ranch residents.

When state Auditor General Douglas Norton looked into the deal, he was unable to find any record of an agreement between Arrowhead Ranch and ADOT. “No written record exists pertaining to the negotiations between the Arizona Department of Transportation and the developers of Arrowhead Ranch.”[1] RandomMainstream (talk) 02:50, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
