I'll review this article shortly. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 16:09, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Here are the issues I found:

  • "where he started as a newsboy at the age of six" started what exactly?
    • Good point -- I've rephrased it slightly to make this clear and also establish the chronology a little bit more explicitly. It now says he "started working as a newsboy at the age of six." etc.
  • "stars including placekicker Lou Groza, wideout Dante Lavelli and quarterback Otto Graham," wide receiver, also linking the positions might help.--Batard0 (talk) 11:35, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • I've wikilinked all the positions and substituted "wide receiver". Lavelli was in fact called an "end" at the time, but there's no difference between the end and wide receiver positions aside from the name. Thus I think we're safe going with wide receiver because more people will understand it.--Batard0 (talk) 11:35, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Review in progress. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 05:39, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Here's the rest of my concerns:

  • Are two non-free images really needed? I'd delete one and keep the other. I prefer the bottom image but I don't care which is kept.
    • Main image deleted and replaced with the second one. I flipped it horizontally so it faces the text, which is generally preferred, I think.--Batard0 (talk) 12:47, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • "But McBride denied the mafia connections" The But at the start of the sentence isn't needed.
  • "he gave Paul Brown a free hand to sign players and coach." and coaches.
    • I'm flipping this around to say "coach and sign players": the point here is that McBride didn't interfere with 1) his coaching and 2) his personnel decisions. The way I had it was pretty poor...let me know if this doesn't resolve the ambiguity.--Batard0 (talk) 12:47, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • It's not a requirement, but adding the inflation template to the salaried figures would be a nice addition.
    • I put in the inflated figures for all but Otto Graham's salary since it's the same year as Paul Brown's and I figure readers will probably be able to figure out pretty easily roughly how much that was.--Batard0 (talk) 12:47, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'll put the article and hold and will pass it when the issues are fixed. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 02:17, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free images cannot be modified or flipped. That's already been reverted though so no harm done. Everything else looks good so I'll pass the article. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 14:56, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
