Arthur D. LevinsonArt Levinson – Google Trends indicates that "Art Levinson" is the common name, as it has earned at least a score of 10 for search interest since November 2010, whereas "Arthur D. Levinson" hasn't (some months even have a score of 0). "Art Levinson" has a regional interest section on Google Trends, while "Arthur D. Levinson" does not, and it even says for the latter, "Not enough search volume to show results." WikiWinters (talk) 22:36, 27 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. The nomination provides no evidence and most of the article's sources use "Arthur" or "Arthur D." —  AjaxSmack  21:45, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@AjaxSmack: Fixed. WikiWinters (talk) 22:39, 27 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I still oppose a move. Wikipedia is not a compendium of search terms; that's what Google Trends is for. Even if you accept search phrases as evidence of a common name for an encyclopedia article title (which I don't), in this case "Arthur" and "Arthur D." together are more common than "Art" on Google Trends (see here for results). —  AjaxSmack  03:18, 28 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The averages for "Arthur Levinson" and "Art Levinson" are both higher than that of "Arthur D. Levinson." However, "Arthur Levinson" appears to be the most common. Shall we change it to that? Also, just for reference (as they aren't particularly scientific and suitable for supporting change in encyclopedic material), here are the stats for search queries:
  • arthur levinson - 100
  • art levinson - 50
  • arthur levinson apple - 30
  • arthur d. levinson - 30
  • levinson arthur d - 15

  • Weak oppose you'd expect more news articles and maybe some press releases to refer to him by "Art Levinson" if that's what he's usually known by. —innotata 22:01, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Request to restore award listing[edit]

In a previous formatting of this page, Dr. Levinson's 2014 receipt of the National Medal of Technology and Innovation was removed.

If approved, this should be included as the last under "Career":

In 2014 he received the National Medal of Technology and Innovation, the United States' highest honors for achievement and leadership in advancing the fields of science and technology. [18[1]]
