I just wanted to say I like what's been/being done to the article. It's great to see references being added and the range of high-quality photographs really gives a good impression of Ashby. Nev1 (talk) 21:30, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You are most welcome! Hopefully Kirby Muxloe Castle and some others will get the same treatment soon! Pahazzard (talk) 20:18, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This article is in fine shape, castles aren't my thing, but I'll give it a go:

  • the acre conversions to hectares should use the |adj=on parameter so they don't render as "acres"
Done. Hchc2009 (talk) 06:44, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • there is a reversed conversion in the Gardens and parkland subsection (ie ha to acres rather than acres to ha like the rest)
Done. Hchc2009 (talk) 06:44, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • link Kirby Muxloe
Done. Hchc2009 (talk) 06:44, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Where it says "Henry used it to imprison Mary Queen of Scots in 1569" it is a bit confusing. Do you mean Henry Hastings or Henry VIII? If the former, why was he doing that?
Done - see if it works. Hchc2009 (talk) 06:44, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • link Council of the North
Done. Hchc2009 (talk) 06:44, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • suggest briefly explaining what an "Irish fort" was
Nobody really knows, so have added a footnote. Hchc2009 (talk) 06:44, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • where it says "Henry returned to the castle in September" it isn't clear where he was before that
Done. Hchc2009 (talk) 06:44, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Henry's involvement in the recent rebellion," isn't clear. It says there were concerns about him, but then says he was involved. Did he actually participate in it?
Clarified. Hchc2009 (talk) 06:44, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • "deploying gunpowder" is a term I'm not familiar with. Does it mean he blew it up, or set charges to do so? If blown up, what parts?
Have clarified, but it is unclear which bits were undermined and which were blown up. Hchc2009 (talk) 06:44, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • link Tournament (medieval)
Done. Hchc2009 (talk) 06:44, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • link hearth and portcullis
Done. Hchc2009 (talk) 06:44, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • the reference to "great chamber for the lord" is this different from the Great Chamber?
Yes - have tried to clarify. Hchc2009 (talk) 06:44, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • All the images appear to be appropriately licensed.
  • deer park and The Midlands are overlinked
Done. Hchc2009 (talk) 06:44, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That's me done. Cheers, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 09:45, 18 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Peacemaker - hopefully all done now. Hchc2009 (talk) 06:44, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No prob. This article is well-written, verifiable using reliable sources, covers the subject well, is neutral and stable, and is illustrated by appropriately licensed images with appropriate captions. Passing. Cheers, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 07:51, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Small correction[edit]

The Hastings family suffered financially as a result of the war, and Ferdinando was imprisoned for debt in 1659.[37]

This came out of an update I've just finished on the 7th Earl; its my week for minor late 17th century politicians :) but Ferdinando died in 1656; maybe 1649?

Nice article.

Thanks Robin! Will cross-check with the source. Hchc2009 (talk) 18:07, 19 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Checked and fixed; I'd mistyped. Nicely spotted! Hchc2009 (talk) 18:19, 19 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
