This entire page seems speculative, random, and dubious. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.62.249.129 (talk) 23:57, 18 December 2009 (UTC) I agree the entire page is completely made up using random, non-factual information AlexZ1971 02:33, 14 May 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by AlexZ1971 (talkcontribs) [reply]

Ashkenaz[edit]

You should add this:

   Ashkenaz (Princedom of Ash(es))
   Ash - Kenaz
   - Ash(es) = Ass(es)
   - Kenaz tur. Princedom (principality) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.11.1.64 (talk) 20:20, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I assume you are posting in good faith, but what in the world are you talking about? Also remember any information added should be verifiable. Til Eulenspiegel (talk) 22:30, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't matter what historians concur. The Bible is from ancient manuscripts, and verbal history was a Jewish tradition that Jews made sure was accurate as it was passed down. The father of Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah was not Tiras but Gomer (both were sons of Japheth), as the Bible in Genesis 10:3 states. Genesis 10:3 (as the Old Testament is the Jewish Bible and Genesis is part of the Torah) needs to at least be sited in that section, beside the historians quoted there. Thanks!172.58.125.174 (talk)

This occult "article" (nonsense ) should be deleted[edit]

Because Scythians were NOT "jews". Scythians, Sarmatians spoke Iranic languages. PERIOD

Wikipedia is clearly becoming Jewpedia. Stealing cultures, histories from other people. It is a PSEUDO SCIENCE and it should be called that way!

"Jewpedia"?? I've had my own helpful comments removed on Wikipedia but this smear comment is allowed to stay? And they didn't even have to be identified by an IP number? It appears to be a pejorative. Please remove.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.58.125.174 (talkcontribs)

Jewpedia, huh?[edit]

It isn't Jews promoting such theories. It's that type of crackpot who likes mixing nationalism with religious destiny. Essentially it's an attempt to render the Jews irrelevant by claiming all Christian Europeans are really lost tribes of Israel.

The Romans tried doing the same thing to the Greeks when they claimed to be Trojans. Of course nobody would know anything about any of these tribes if the Greeks and Hebrews hadn't bothered to write about them. Considering how many names in Assyrian records start with an Ash- there is no reason to connect the names to the Scythians of Herodotus. The Ashkenazi province of Urartia is not necessarily connected either. Askuza might be a Median tribe whose name means "spirit-of-hounds" or something. Ashkasi might mean "spears of truth" or "elevated hunters". Since it is related to a tribe whose name translates to "completion", the Biblical name might come from Urartian: "Ashe-gun-asini", complete army.

I would like to give you a dose of reality in case your idea of Jews comes from Woody Allen or something. Maybe you think a Jew on horseback is gonna be all nerdy, saying "oy vey" and stuff. If so I invite you to get your ass kicked.

Most Jewish deportees learned an Iranian language and I'm sure some fell in with nomadic tribes. The Pashtun people of Afganistan have long claimed Jewish ancestry, as did several ruling tribes of Alans. Georgians, Armenians, Circassians, and Chechens all associated with Jews since way back when. The Kuifang Jews of China live in the same location as one of the earliest Turkic groups, Guifang. Assyrians and Persians both used Jewish cavalry archers frequently.

Give us Jews some peace. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.139.77.194 (talk) 17:56, 15 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
