Notability[edit]

The subject is the head of an Israeli political party contending in its third national elections. She is the only Israeli Arab woman heading a political party in that country, and the only woman besides Tzipi Livni of Kadima to head a party. The party, the Organization for Democratic Action, has a page here (in which her name was redlinked). The Asma Agbarieh page was created as a translation from the Hebrew Wikipedia and a half-page article in Haaretz, a leading mainstream newspaper with a daily print and electronic edition. I am now adding categories.-- Deborahjay (talk) 22:28, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. She is as important in Israel as Sam Webb in the USA. She has never been in the Knesset, but she is probably the most important grassroots communist activist in Israel and has been discussed in the media here. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 22:32, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
